Privacy Notice
Last updated: 4 August 2026
This notice explains how Award Reads ("we", "us") handles personal information collected through the Award Reads launch-list form and website.
Who is responsible for your information?
The Big Small Talk LLC, trading as Award Reads, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Questions and data-protection requests can be sent to privacy@awardreads.com.
Information we collect
When you join the launch list, we collect:
- your email address;
- your consent choice and confirmation status;
- subscription, confirmation and unsubscribe dates; and
- limited technical and security information used to prevent spam and protect the form, such as an IP address, browser or device information, and Turnstile security-check data.
How and why we use it
We use your email address to send launch news and occasional Award Reads updates or marketing emails. Our lawful basis for these emails is your consent. The form uses double opt-in, so you will not be added to the active list unless you click the confirmation link sent to you.
We use limited technical information to operate, secure and prevent misuse of the form. We do this where necessary for our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure website and reliable subscription service.
Who receives your information?
We use Brevo to manage the launch list, check for an existing active subscription, record consent and deliver the double-opt-in emails. Form submissions are validated and rate-limited on our hosting server before the required information is securely sent to Brevo. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to process limited technical information on our behalf for security, fraud prevention and detecting automated submissions. Our web-hosting and technical providers may also process limited information where necessary to provide and secure the website.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies, Turnstile and website logs
Award Reads does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile runs an invisible security check and processes limited browser and network signals to distinguish people from automated submissions. Turnstile pre-clearance is disabled. Cloudflare explains its processing and any strictly necessary technologies in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Our hosting provider also records limited server-log information for security and aggregated website statistics. This can include an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, date and time, and the referring website.
International transfers
Award Reads is operated by a United States company, and some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where data-protection law requires it, we use appropriate contractual or other recognised safeguards for these transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your active subscription information while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, we stop marketing to you and may retain the minimum information needed on a suppression list so that your choice is respected. Short-lived security records used for rate limiting are automatically removed when they are no longer needed. Unconfirmed or obsolete subscription records are removed when they are no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the link in an Award Reads email or by contacting privacy@awardreads.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of your information; restrict or object to its use; and receive a portable copy. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
If you are in the United Kingdom and are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Award Reads develops or our services change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date.
